Abstract:
A Gaussian integrated puff model has been applied to model the daily mean concentrations of pollutant gases (H2S) in different points around an industrial area. Various settling and deposition velocities were used to evaluate the ground deposition at different downwind distances. In this model the dispersion parameters sy and sz are determined as continuous functions of the basic physical parameters of the boundary layer. The concentrations of H2S for a 5kg/hour emission during 6 month were calculated. The calculated concentrations have been statistically compared with the measurements made in the industrial interested points. There are also presented the conclusions concerning the pollution level from the area of emplacement of the sources of pollution and there are proposed solutions of developing a surveillance system in real time. The results obtained can be used for taking decisions, which affect directly the safety of the public and the environment around major sources of pollution in Romania. Key words: air pollution, concentration, deposition velocity
