Abstract:
The alert development of solar cell industry and research that continues in the field in last years, reminds us that in the near future homes will be energy independent. The green roofs are landscaped area of artificial structures, more complicated than simply placed on a roof garden, in a multilayer system, which is a continuation of the house. The green roofs are an alternative to reduce " the Hot Island effect " in a city. This contribution analyzes a series of local parameters and elaborate a technical solution for a green roof taking in account different renewable energy sources, type of biomass, hydrosystems, solar pannels for the water management, in a sustainable concept and zero emission environment. It will be discussed the energy needs of an average household, area of solar cells needed to optimize energy consumption.
