Abstract:
With the introduction of new advanced materials results in the development of nanotechnologies, fuel cells have become more efficient and closer to the general concept of clean energy. Polymeric membranes lead the membrane separation industry market, because they are very competitive in performance and economics. SPEEK membranes were investigated for water content and degree of sulphonation. The conductivity of the polymeric membranes was also investigated. The resuls showed that polymeric membranes have an increased conductivity and thus could be suitable for industrial applications.
