Abstract:
We present recent results obtained in the framework of the non-relativistic semiclassical theory, for the above threshold ionization of the hydrogen atom, exposed to a short and intense XUV pulse of electromagnetic radiation. For the considered spectral range the non-dipole effects begin to play an increasing role, included in calculations by an approximate treatment of the Hamilton operator describing the interaction electron - radiation pulse. Relativistic effects are fully neglected.
