Abstract:
In the attempt to build a ground based Cherenkov telescope to be used for the high energy gamma-ray observations, a particular attention should be given to the selection of the observation location. In addition to the influence of the local altitude, meteorological conditions, access roads and infrastructure, the local horizon and its specific obstructions have to be taken into account. We are going to present a method that quantifies the influence of the local horizon on the high energy gamma-ray observations. The method uses as a tool the Sky6 Professional software program. The minimum system requirement, the scripted operations, the sources selection as well as the photograph procedure will be described. The preliminary results will be presented for the selected sources in the case of the flat horizon and the real horizon.
