Abstract: A model consisting of two elastic media separated by an adhesive layer can be approximated as a multi-layered structure. A system “spring with mass” at a microscopic scale is used to model the mechanical contact at the interfaces, in order to explain both the resistance of the interfaces and the particular links (atomic or molecular) of the contact surfaces between the two media. For different parameter values of the model “spring without mass”, the study concerns the variation of the dispersion curves in the complex angle plane and the position of the angular poles.
Also, the results can be compared to those obtained for the same structure in the case of the inertial model and the role (importance) of the inertia can be quantized.
