Abstract:
The Stoner-Wohlfarth model has been extended to the more general case of a bi-dimensional distribution of easy axes. The numerical simulations, checked in the case of a single uniaxial anisotropy axis, have provided complete information about the magnetization reversal under magnetic fields, applied at different directions versus the average direction of the angular distribution, considered either of step-shape or Gaussian-like. The provided results are more suitable to be compared with real experimental results obtained on textured magnetic thin films, characterized by vector MOKE magnetometry.
