Abstract: In this study, there were placed 8 (eight) TLD-100 and a dosimetric film on the line between the upper abdomen and the pelvis of a female patient with a suspected malignancy. Using a Computed Tomography (CT) scanner type Light Speed TMseries and Pro 16 System, both the patient and the PMMA (perspex) body phantom of 32 cm are exposed to the X ray. The proposed objective is that of estimation through these dosimetry methods the patient dose values which are comparable with those of the weighted Computed Tomography Dose Index (CTDIw) and of the CTDIW,B on the PMMA body phantom. The results obtained by TLD dose reading of 29.34 mGy and the dosimetric film assessing dose of 27.96 mGy are comparable with the calculated values of the CTDIW = 28.38 mGy and of the CTDIW,B= 30.73 mGy as shown in Table [1]. According to N.C.R.P. the value of the estimated absorbed dose for upper abdomen of De= 30 mGy shows a good agreement. The TLD mean dose relative variation against the calculated CTDIW value is less than 5% therefore reveals their good response .
