Abstract:
In this presentation, one will describe the main steps in the design of a low cost
small-sized portable ECG (electrocardiograph). Firstly, the origin of bio-potentials in the human
body, especially those generated by human heart, are to be analyzed . The special designed instrumentation amplifier used in this project allowed a very good signal-noise ratio in some non-conventional configuration of the examinee’s body. The 12-bit data acquisition system and the related software have been adapted in order to meet the most common specifications regarding power line noise reduction and user-friendliness.
