Abstract:
In this paper the magneto motive force is calculated for a magnetic circuit that includes a number of air gaps of time varying length and cross sections, which are used as magnetic junctions. Knowing that the magneto motive force is directly related to the total magnetic flux and to the entire circuit reluctance is calculated with respect to the magnetic junction cross sections, assuming a given time varying function for the magnetic junction cross sections. The time varying magnetic flux dependence of the junction’s time varying reluctance is also considered. Each of the junction reluctance is, on its turn, correlated to both geometry of the respective magnetic junction and the length of the air gap. The equation shows how a time varying magnetic flux could be controlled by both the geometry of the cross sections magnetic junctions and the time varying air gaps lengths. Thus, an electromotive force (in a coil or conductor) of a controlled wave shape may be induced by the resulted time varying magnetic field.
