Abstract:
This work contains the comparison for neutron field dose measurements made with EPD-N2 and 8806 neutron dosemeters, on several locations inside the Unit 1 Reactor Building at CNE Cernavoda. Detectors are calibrated relative to a moderated 252Cf source so that all measurements are compatible. The EPD N2 has a calibration certificate issued by Physikalish Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). The TL detectors where calibrated at Research Center for Radiation Protection (Faculty of Physics – University of Bucharest) following the Thermo 8806 procedure with a 137Cs metrological accredited source. Following the data readout, TL detectors have a better response compared to EPD N2 (the measurement is within 20%) for deep dose – Hp(10). All detectors were placed in known neutron fields in order to receive 0.5 mSv (estimated neutron dose). We use a correction coefficient for each of the irradiation spectra so that we can better evaluate the deep dose, for specific, known neutron fields, with Harshaw 8806 TL detectors.
