Abstract:
This paper is focused on the experimental analysis of different pathologically modified tissues, using the Mueller imaging polarimetry technique with a pulsed femtoseconds laser. A comparison of this technique with the use of a He-Ne laser in the acquisition and the recording of Mueller images of the samples is also made. In comparison with the classical acquisition of 16 Mueller matrix images of the sample, the experimental set-up used permits the recording of 24 polarization images and therefore the possibility of extracting more information regarding the investigated object. The method can be applied for a wide variety of objects with polarization inhomogeneous structure, such as biological tissues, or thin films.
