Abstract:
A coherent set of material for university/high school education in Nuclear Physics is currently developed. It contains an introductory course in Nuclear Physics which uses the problem solving paradigm, and a coordinated collection of multimedia animations and applets written in Java and Python programming languages. Nuclear Physics programs using Java and Python programming languages are presented and displayed. This programs deals with radioactive decays, nuclear structure, interaction mechanisms, particle accelerators, a nucleon in a box, and quantum packets. It is proposed that presentation of Nuclear Physics within a scientific problem-solving paradigm, using a computational approach is a more effective and efficient way to teach Physics than the traditional one.
