Abstract:
This paper is about one of most damaging winds in aviation: the macroburst. This type of wind is a consequence of convection`s manifestation, so it is always related with a convective cloud-Towering Cumulus or Cumulonimbus. In this study I will briefly try to present a case study over a macroburst that joined a storm at the Henry Coanda Airport-Bucharest of 26th of April, 2009. The support is as follows:actual data, extracted from METAR messages, satellite images(HRV and NATURAL VISIBLE), radar images(local and Mosaic, Echo Top and Reflectivity), vertical profiles and time series.
