Abstract:
The purpose of work is to establish appropriate methods of sound signal acquisition and to construct algorithms to process these signals. The first step for any DSP(digital signal processing) applied to sound is the digital acquisition of sound. In digital audio the signal is not captured in a continous fashion as in a traditional recording. A number of snapshots (samples) are taken every second. The frequency range of signal is cut (on high and low frequency) to select the useful bandwidth. To characterize the signal, a Fourier analyze is used. The used computational method is the FFT(fast Fourier Transform).A compression method of digital signal is then proposed. The paper presents results of acquisition and processing sounds obtained with simple hardware covered with rather sophisticate algorithms. The final goal is to propose a method of determination of voice profile.
