Abstract:
The present and near future experimental facilities, as the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, will provide energies suitable for studies beyond the Standard Model. We focus our studies on the extensions of the Standard Model that accommodate heavy charged leptons. Several gauge groups containing SU(3)CxSU(2)LxU(1)Y as a subgroup provide fermion representations with higher dimension than the one of the Standard Model, predicting the existence of new fermions. We investigate the cross-section for the gluon-gluon fusion heavy lepton pair production mechanism described by different theoretical models with an extended gauge sector. The results are presented as a function of the heavy lepton mass and the mass of the additional boson Z`. We briefly discuss the discovery potential of near future experiments.
