Abstract:
Solar cells were prepared using thin films of small molecules organic materials (ZnPc, CuPc and TPyP), deposited on optical glass and PET substrates. For improving electrical and photoelectrical behaviour of these structures, in their preparation different TCO layers, such as ITO and/ or doped ZnO, were used. The organic thin films were deposited by thermal vacuum evaporation using as source a quartz container holding the corresponding powder. To finalise the photovoltaic structure a 300 nm Al thin films was deposited on the organic absorber, representing the top contact of the structures. The structural and morphological characterization (XRD, AFM, SEM) of the prepared photoactive thin films was performed. Optical, electrical and photoelectrical properties were investigated for each of the prepared photovoltaic cells and a comparison between their performances has been done. The transport parameters characterizing the depletion region responsible for photovoltaic response were determined, too.
