Abstract:
A model for unfavourable dispersion conditions (low wind and calm) has been developed to simulate the tritium concentrations in the exclusion area of the nuclear power plant (NPP) Cernavoda (Romania), under normal operation. A dispersion experiment carried out on the NPP site provided measured values of tritium concentrations making use of liquid scintillation method. The intercomparison of the simulated and measured concentration values emphasized the skill of the model to reasonably predict the concentration pattern at local scale.
