Abstract:
A short overview of results concerning the properties of quark-gluon plasma at RHIC and LHC energies as evidenced by recent experiments, including some of the salient features of phase diagram and ideal fluid behavior, is presented. Then, within a relativistic transport model based on Boltzmann-Vlasov equation, that distinguishes between short range interaction associated with collisions and a mean-field dynamics, we explore the QGP fireball expansion under the conditions of a fixed viscosity to entropy density ratio. In the second part of the talk we discuss new aspects of the dynamics of the nuclear fragmentation, a ubiquitous phenomenon observed at Fermi energies. We focus on the transition from nuclear multifragmentation to neck fragmentation in semi-central heavy-ion collisions. Along this transition, our microscopic transport approach predicts several correlations among the kinematic observables associated with the intermediate mass fragments. The interplay with isospin dynamics is revealed and recent experimental results sustaining our findings are discussed.
