Abstract:
Abstract – Effects of cosmic rays with energies large measure the dose of radiation, which measures the energy absorbed locally per unit mass as a result of exposure to radiation. The value of effective dose rate by atmospheric muons at several atmospheric depths, in the momentum range of muon [3.0 – 40.0 ] GeV / c has been studied. We calculated the dose rate from cosmic radiation at the top of the atmosphere in order to estimate the risks for crews and electronic instruments on supersonic airplanes. Analytic calculations for equivalent dose rate, at several atmospheric depths have been used. Numerical calculations showed that, in the high atmosphere, cosmic radiation dose rate, at the level of the flight of supersonic aircraft, is higher than that the ground level. Finally, we see that, the level of radiation at the top of the atmosphere, intensity and composition of cosmic rays, vary in orders of magnitude depending on altitude, inclination trajectories of spacecrafts, ship orientation during flight, the degree of protection, minimum and maximum periods of Sun activity.
