Abstract:
Photovoltaic structures based on P3HT:PCBM(1:1) polymers blend were prepared by spin coating technique, using optical glass substrates covered with 30 nm thick ITO, commercially available. Two sets of samples were prepared with the same blend, but differing by the LiF layer thickness. The current-voltage (I-V) characteristics, in dark and at illumination through ITO electrode of the ITO/PEDOT/P3HT:PCBM(1:1)/LiF/Al structures were measured. The action spectra of the cells revealed the features also observed in absorption spectra of the component polymers. Their non-linearity and asymmetry were explained on the base of electrode/organic semiconductor interface behavior. A fill factor (FF) of 0.24 was calculated and the power conversion efficiency was 0.41% for the as prepared samples. The cell parameters in regime of photo-element were determined and their dependence on the thickness of the LiF layer are presented and discussed.
