Abstract:
The most common model for the neutral atmospheric boundary layer is the constant flux model. This model assumes quasi-stationary flow in the surface layer and neglects the pressure gradient force. To close the motion equation are used different semi-empirical, statistical or similitude theories for the turbulent fluxes. Assuming an equilibrium turbulent flow and the presence of the pressure gradient force, the motion equation for a turbulent flow and the equation of turbulent kinetic energy become closed. Solving these equations under these assumptions result the logarithmic profile of the wind speed specific for the neutral turbulent surface layer, the rugosity length and a theoretical value for von Karman constant of 0,5.
