Abstract:
Interfacing represents a way of organizing objectives, contents and education methodologies with implications upon the entire strategy of designing the curriculum, offering a unitary image of the phenomena and processes studied within the disciplines like mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry and integrating all the main components of the four disciplines. The concept of interfacing can be better understood through comparison with other correlative concepts: monodisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity, pluridisciplinarity, transdisciplinarity. The present paper aims at following the latest methodological orientations in teaching physics at pre-university level, in the new context of the Romanian reform in education. The role of mathematics is crucial in physics when we observe that mathematics allows expressing the dependencies among physical quantities involved in physical phenomena.
