Abstract: Yttrium orthovanadate (YVO4) is an attractive host lattice for several rare earth (RE) ions to produce efficient phosphors.
RE3+ doped YVO4 nanocrystalline powders were synthesized by co precipitation. The nanopowders heat-treated at various temperatures were characterized by X-ray diffraction. The method of line profile analysis was used to identify changes of microstructure (crystallite size and strain).
