Abstract:
In the experiment we studied the influence of microgravity on electrolysis. As it is known electrolysis consists of ionic dissociation under the influence of an electric current. In normal gravitational conditions the gaseous products goes up to the surface of the liquid as a results of Archimedes forces. In micro gravitational conditions (g~0) Archimedes forces does not exist and thus the gaseous products does not go to the surface of the liquid. The gaseous component could cover the electrodes with a layer of gas, or could react with the electrodes, or could be dissolved in the liquid and so on. All these phenomena could modify in a specific way the dependence of the intensity with time in micro gravitational conditions and that was proposed to measure during the experiment. The result obtained will be discussed.
