Abstract:
different polarities of the magnetic field. The regions under observation were the so-called large-scale magnetic fields (LSMF). These regions have low-intensity magnetic fields of a few gauss. Several authors discuss the dynamics of that LSMF and some scenario has been developed. A fractal analysis of the geometry of the borders between regions could give some hints for that scenario. We found values for fractal dimensions between 1.2 and 1.4. A correlation between these values and the solar activity is in progress.
