Abstract:
Electrohidrodynamic instabilities in nematic liquid crystals have been theoretically studied by Helfrich and Bodenschatz, starting from a nonlinear Navier Stokes equation. These electrohidrodynamic instabilities in nematic liquid crystals have been recently studied using nonlinear dynamics. Choosing the electrical field as the constraining parameter, the liquid crystal molecules behave nonlinearly, the whole system become nonstationar, forming a new type of ordered structure, the chevrons.
