Abstract:
Morita context rings are, up to isomorphism, just the rings with nontrivial idempotents, so they form a very large class of rings generalizing matrix rings. We investigate isomorphisms between two Morita context rings. Our interest in this problem is motivated by: (i) the problem to determine the automorphism group of a Morita context ring, and (ii) the recovery of the non-diagonal tiles problem. Under certain conditions, we determine all the automorphisms of a Morita context ring.
