Abstract:
This paper deals with the homogenization of some nonlinear problems arising in the modelling of chemical reactive flows through the exterior of a domain containing periodically distributed reactive solid grains (or reactive obstacles). We shall be interested in getting the effective behavior of such chemical reactive flows involving diffusion, different types of adsorption and absorption rates and chemical reactions which take place at the boundary of the grains. Rigorous proofs of the convergence results are given in the case of two well-known examples of such nonlinear models, namely the so-called Freundlich and Langmuir kinetics.
