Abstract:
The electron transfer throughout a 1D chain of barriers has been calculated taking into account the transfer matrix for each barrier. The complex multiplication of the matrix related to all barriers gives the total transparency of the chain. The spectrum of the transmitted electrons versus energy has been calculated. The gaps between the walls was assumed as a random variable. A random number generator has been built to give the distribution of inter barrier distance which corresponds to the imposed average and dispersion values. We have developed a code for the investigation of the quasi-level distribution versus the disorder of the barrier chain. Order disorder transition determines the degradation of the minibands mainly those placed at higher energy. The current probability versus an external electric field has been calculated relative to the imposed dispersion for inter-barrier distance.
