Abstract:
The proton rich nucleus 90Ru is an exotic nucleus, far from the beta stability line, and located close to the Z=N region. The 90Ru nucleus was been obtained by the reaction 40Ca+58Ni, as the 2 alfa exit channel. The reaction was produced at Legnaro Laboratory of the INFN-Italy, with the XTU Tandem Accelerator. The target was placed in the center of the GASP ball, consisting of 40 large volume Ge detectors and 80 BGO crystals. The ISIS silicon ball with 40 (E,delta E) was used to make the selection of the data through the coincidence with charged particles. From the analysis of the coincidence data a new negative parity band was observed and the previuosly reported positive parity yrast band extended up to 20+. The experimental data is compared with projected shell model calculations.
