Abstract:
Size and dimensions of various particles that can pass through filtration media is determined by the size of pores of membranes. Thus, the largest, the mean and the range of the most constricted through pore sizes and the pore distributions are the most important characteristics that determine the barrier properties of filtration media as synthetic membranes. The medical application environment of filtration media is often considerably different from the usually tests and application environment can appreciably modify the pore structure, so we need to perform compatibility investigations for those materials used for the medical purposes.
