Abstract:
Last decades agriculture development generate a growth and diversification of weeds, pests and diseases of crop plants and forests, which implies the use of bigger and bigger quantities of pesticides.New types of pesticides appear yearly, situation which raise the number of pollutant chemical residues in the environment.This paper refers to transfer of some organochlorinated persistent pesticides in soil, surface and ground water. The study was done for 4 sampling points situated in an agricultural area nearby Bucharest, on Arges river. Were analyzed samples of soil – from surface (0 – 10 cm) up till 40 – 60 cm depth, samples of surface water (from Arges River) and samples of ground water (wells). The study was focus on transfer/translocation process of organochlorine pesticides (lindane, aldrin endosulfane, DDT etc.) used especially in agriculture and their presence as persistent residues. The results shows pesticides presence especially in soil samples (bigger quantities in the 0 – 10 cm layer: 0,649 – 0,708 mg/kg), in smaller quantities in surface waters and only accidentally in groundwater. The persistency of these chemicals in soil can be correlate and explains also the presence of these, as an accumulation process effect, in vegetables (for example were analyzed but not systematically some samples of cabbage, radish and tomatoes).
