Full optical phonon spectrum and Fröhlich Hamiltonian for a q-1D heterostructure made of wurtzite type materials

Abstract:
In the context of the dielectric continuum model used here for uniaxial crystals, the dispersion laws of the full optical phonon spectrum of a quasi-1D heterostructure of type uniaxial/uniaxial (the geometry preserving the axial symmetry of the problem) and the corresponding Fröhlich electron-phonon interaction terms are obtained. The coupling function describing the electron-phonon interaction is obtained in an analytical closed-form. The Fröhlich Hamiltonian for the full optical phonon spectrum is obtained based on the general orthogonality relation proved for the eigenvectors of the phonon field. Numerical calculations are performed for the heterostructure GaN/AlN.
