Abstract:
This work describes the near infrared properties of polymer (polyurethane, polystyrene) thin-films doped with Er:DAB. There is a 1500 nm photoluminescence observed on polyurethane thin-film due to the energy transfer from the organic ligand to the central Er3+ ion. This photoluminescence property of Er:DAB could have a potential use in optically active devices for photonic communication.
