Abstract:
The site ”Something about Neural Networks” has been created in order to provide a database for those students interested in learning more about Neural Networks in a practical manner. The homepage of the site furnishes interesting links towards related sites offering more detailed information about this subject (Neural Networks, Biological Neuron, 8 basic Neural Networks: Perceptron Learning Rule; Widrow-Hoff Rule; Backpropagation; Radial Basis Networks; Associative Learning Rules; Self-Organizing Networks; Learning Vector Quantization; Recurrent Networks, each of them with applets). Three important applications of Neural Networks in Biophysics are concerning proteins, language processing and protein secondary structure prediction. Besides the theoretical description of Neural Networks, additional material about the university course on Neural Networks, sustained at the Faculty of Physics of the University Bucharest and also the references to some papers published by the Romanian researchers were included in this site.
