Abstract:
The long-lived fission fragment 129I radioactive waste resulted in the technological processes of nuclear power stations constitutes a big problem for mankind. Therefore attempts have been made to eliminate them efficiently by their transmutation into stable nuclides.
With the help of bombardment by relatively fast neutrons with energy no more than 10 MeV it is possible to receive products transmutations of 129I isotope.
Using the statistical multistep direct + statistical multistep compound (SMD+SMC) quantum formalism, the estimated (output) cross-sections of stable isotopes resulted from transmutation are obtained. The description of the g-spectrum in the above transmutation reaction is discussed within the framework of SMD+SMC quantum theory in view of multistep emissions of secondary nucleons.
