This paper is a short review over the meteorological situation on the second of January 2008 when the southern part of Romania was damaged by a severe snowstorm. For nearly two days the Constanta`s authorities were forced to shut down any movement over the Constanta pier, to close every access way to the county and the airport was paralyzed also. In this case one can illustrates some usefully meteorologist`s tools: synoptic maps, radar and satellite imagery, geopotential field maps, meteograms, all these for a better understanding of the physical processes and meteorological context.
