Abstract:
We report Monte Carlo simulations based on the Lebwohl-Lasher model for characterizing the molecular director configuration in a nematic liquid crystal having immersed particles in the bulk. We investigate the molecular director configuration around the immersed particle using both scalar and tensorial order parameter as well as the biaxiality of the system at various temperatures. We also studied the effect of electric field on the properties of the system. Notes:M.
