Abstract:
The knowledge of the structure and evolution of air masses is essential for meteorology, especially for weather forecasting. Physics and dynamics properties of the air masses depend both on the location where they are generated and on their trajectories. To recognize the air masses there are several conservative parameters as potential or equivalent potential temperature and turbidity. The purpose of this work is the study the changes of different air masses taking into account the air mass history described by conservative parameters, potential temperature or equivalent potential temperature. The analysis of thermodynamic parameters of the air masses formed at high latitude by comparison with those from the tropics, have shown large differences during their evolution. The trajectories determined by the wind field also affected their characteristic
