Abstract:
A neural network has been used to simulate a complex experimental EPR spectrum of low dose irradiated human tooth enamel. For this purpose a neural "forward" type network consisting of a single layer of hidden neurons has been designed. The number of neurons was allowed to change freely from one type of spectrum to another, but remained fixed for the same kind of spectrum. A "back-propagation" algorithm was used. Simulated spectra present a great similarity with the experimental ones. This fact permitted to determine spectrum parameters as giromagnetic factor and line half-width. Numerical values of these parameters were in good agreement with those previously reported in literature.
