Abstract:
In the high frequency Floquet theory the stationary states of the dressed potential describe the behaviour of a particle in a potential field V(x) and under the influence of a monochromatic super-intense electromagnetic field described in the dipole approximation. We consider the simple case of a one-dimensional attractive double delta -function potential and determine its bound states for values of the free electron quiver motion amplitude up to 50 a.u. In the absence of the electromagnetic field the potential can support one or two bound states depending on its parameters. With the increase of the field intensity the number of bound states increases. Our calculation \1\ has located four light induced states (LIS). The wavefunctions show that the system has the dichotomy property discovered by Gavrila and coworkers (1988) in the case for the hydrogen atom. \1\ Ciprian Chirila, master thesis, Bucharest 2001
