Abstract:
In this work we showed that the method of teaching in physics has an important role in pupil development, establishing the contents of physics as a subject matter on school profiles and years of study. At the base of processing the physics course it has to put the general principles of physics: conservation laws, correspondence and symmetry principles. We also want to emphasize that the role of mathematics in physics is not only of an instrument for physics but it also can be used to describe the world around us. Mathematics permits the concentrated expression of dependences between physical quantities that are used later to define notions. It is not possible to solve the physics problems without a proper mathematical algorithm. In order to illustrate the connection between physics and mathematics we shall mention: a) The quantitative evaluation of speed variation in time and space using the notion of fluxions. b) The calculation of mechanical work of a variable force using the integral calculus. c) The structure of crystals using symmetry notions. The lack of concordance between physicsand mathematics curricula in secondary school and even in elementary school has influenced negatively the understanding of physics by the pupil, this leading to the rejection of the physics. By making the correlation between the two curricula, the didactic speech could be improved, assuring thus the way to increase the interest of pupils.
