Abstract:
The polypyrrole is one of the most interesting polymers being one of the new generation of advanced materials. This material combines the mechanical and chemical properties of organic materials with the electrical and optical specific features of metals and semiconductors. Its special electrical properties make it one of the smart materials by redox recognition. These properties stem from the fact that polypyrrole is an intrinsic conducting polymer with conductivity due to the delocalized electrons in the conjugated structure. The theoretical approach regarding to the electrical conductivity ranges up to 1000 W-1cm-1. In regular way the obtained conductivities range 1-100 W-1cm-1. The aim of this paper is to correlate the electrical conductivity of the polymers with three polymerization methods (chemical, electrochemical and plasma) and the structural features. The polymers were investigated, with Raman spectroscopy and XRD to be observed structurally differences between these three types of polymerizations.
