Abstract:
This study presents the results obtained by using multiple regression method to estimate connection of clouds radiative forcing to their albedo and cloud fraction. For this work the measured data from Ceilometer CL31, were used. Ceilometer CL31 is a mini-Lidar which permanently works at Magurele (44.35 N, 26.03E), Faculty of Physics. The measurements for 2009 and 2010 were analyzed to obtain daily and monthly cloud fractions (CF).The cloudiness data and cloud microphysics parameters were used to compute the cloud albedo. Three values of relative droplets concentrations in low clouds and mid level clouds were chosen to compute the cloud radiative forcing: 0.30, 0.50 and 0.70. The results show that the albedo affects the radiative forcing much more than cloud fraction. Correlation coefficient is very good (0.95) and radiative forcing at surface ranging between -6Wm-2 in winter and -15Wm-2 in summer. In 2009 the radiative forcing values were larger than in 2010. This means that the annual warming due to clouds presence decreased at Magurele in 2010.
