Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to examine spatial and temporal distribution of cloudiness in the Moldova region, knowing that cloudy cover actual have stronger fluctuations on regional spatio-temporal scales or on mezoscale.Database of low, medium and high cloudiness (in eighths) used was obtained by developing a new data processing algorithm, based on categories of clouds provided by observational data from ground stations. Study of cloudiness, on regional scale, is conducted on an interval of three years: 2006, 2007 and 2008, and the data used were from 14 synoptic ground stations, with continuous observation system (24 hours).The results obtained showed a feature of cloudiness, in time and for the studied area, which consist in dominance of medium cloudiness. His contribution to total cloudiness is above 60%, both seasonally and in the annual variability, result is consistent with that obtained using ERA40 data.
