Abstract:
The study of the indirect radiative forcing of aerosols assumes knowledge on cloud optical properties (optical depth). The literature presents many results, theoretical and experimental, on the relationship between the clouds optical properties and their microphysical structure. This paper presents the dependence of the cloud effective radius for warm stratus clouds function of L/N, where L is the liquid water content and N is the cloud droplet concentration. Droplet size distribution is suggested by Fomin & Mazin (1998).
