Abstract:
The time-dependent Schrodinger equation could be derived starting from the Dirac-Frenkel variational principle for the Dirac action. Restricting the variational space one can obtain different classical approximations and we discuss in detail the one-dimensional quantum problem (one bosonic degree of freedom) going beyond the coherent state approximation. We construct explicitly the non-canonical Poisson structure in the 4-dimensional phase space of squeezed coherent states and we will comment on the possibilities to use it to describe bosonic systems with an infinite number of degrees of freedom.
