Abstract: We can find the coefficient of kinetic friction by the method of the angle of friction, but, for didactic reasons, we should also use the graphic comparative analysis (a method from NASA). Since the informatization has become a phenomenon of our everyday lives - from the perspective of education - we can create a didactic software for the computerized data analysis. Such a product can be a tool of learning with pleasure by applying a visual method. When NASA wants to modify the trajectory of a spaceship, its computers are used to discover the duration of the action of the main rocket engine. In such a case each computer receives a hypothetical duration and calculates the new trajectory. Each computer shows three trajectories. Two are calculated in a theoretical virtual reality and one is obtained by measurements in the „real reality”. The correct duration is selected by graphic comparative analysis. When the duration of the action of the main engine is correct, the projected new trajectory tends to the old projected trajectory. We can transfer the NASA method presented above to the didactic study of the friction in the context of a compound machine. After all the experiments are done, we can use a computer program to obtain three graphs. The first graph shows the efficiency of the compound machine. The second shows the efficiency of the inclined plane and the third shows the efficiency of the pulley. The student can input different hypothetical values of the coefficient of kinetic friction. When the value is correct the second graph is very close to the first (in a domain of the angle of the inclined plane). The method of the computerized graphic analysis is important because familiarizes the students with fundamental aspects of digital applications producing an enjoyable learning experience.
