Abstract:
A Gaussian integrated puff model – INPUFF – has been applied to model the dry and wet removal of air pollutants from elevated continuous point source. Various settling and deposition velocities and scavenging coefficients were used to evaluate the ground deposition at different downwind distances. Numerical simulations in order to evaluate the diffusion factor and ground deposition at different location from the source were made. The different values of the scavenging coefficient for soluble reversible gas (SO2) and soluble irreversible gas (HNO3) are reflected clearly in the ground deposition. As it was expected, the nitric acid is accumulated to concentrations substantially greater than sulphur dioxide in the rainwater. The values of ground deposition increase with the increasing of the precipitation rates. Keywords: dry and wet removal, settling and deposition velocity, scavenging coefficient.
